serious style for serious cold.
While some of the bloggers I follow are sharing their glee about melted snow, and retailers are launching new spring items, those of us in the Midwest are still dealing with this whole below-zero-polar-vortex-bitterly-awful winter thing. But, this does not mean we can’t feel cute in our layers upon layers! I might be longing for the days when I don’t have to wear leggings under my pants, but I do love a good winter accessory - so many more styling options when you have to wear 97 pieces to stay warm. No more of these lightweight scarves and bare feet: I’m on the hunt for truly cute warmth!
metropolis parka, the north face: none of these wimpy peacoats or leather jackets. You need a parka! The white is a chic contrast to the sea of dark coats that winter brings.
alpine action hat, columbia: if you’re going to wear a hat, you may as well go big. This colorful one is a great contrast to the white coat!
cable cowl scarf, gap: this heavy-duty scarf should keep your neck warm and your style happy.
shady lady mittens, kate spade: wearing so many layers might make you appear a bit shady, so why not embrace it?
hunter boots: Big snow means big boots. While Hunter boots are awesome in rain - especially in their new metallic version - just add one of their sock liners and you’re ready for cold!
ankle-zip pants, madewell: I love the comfort factor of these pants. Their site may suggest wearing them with a sheer linen tee, but I suggest pairing with a gigantic sweater.
striped sweater, zara: need I say more?
dot stripe infinity scarf, loft: this is the indoor scarf I’d love to wear. Yes, I wear two scarves when going outdoors in winter.
faux fur vest, h&m: such a snazzy layer to add!
glitter box set socks, kate spade: I really don’t like wearing socks. When the weather makes me, the sparkle certainly helps!
winter bracelet set, bauble bar: you still need bling even when it’s cold, right?
hey hi hello card: for those of you not in the cold, send your favorite Midwestern a little pick-me-up card! We don’t get out much this time of year, and I know I personally always look forward to getting the mail.
What are your favorite ways to feel cute in the cold?
