travel tuesday: mpls + nyc
This month, we've taken a couple long weekends to see old friends and old cities. Our first destination was the great city of Minneapolis where Brendan and I used to live. We visited the U of M campus, which had so many new buildings since the last time we were there! We of course took some lovely strolls around Lake of the Isles, Lake Calhoun, and Lake Harriet, and hit up our favorite brunch spot, Bad Waitress.
And, of course, no trip is complete without a stop at Matt's Bar for the original Jucy Lucy (yes, that is spelled correctly). A giant burger completely exploding with molten cheese - what could be better?
Our second travel weekend brought us back to New York City. We had a wedding to attend on Long Island, but we got in Friday evening and met up with some other wedding guests for a bit of Manhattan exploration. I only snapped a few pics, but it is always magical to be in that city. We had some delicious tapas followed by a ridiculous peanut butter/chocolate/banana/pure joy sundae at Max Brenner Chocolate. Holy food baby!
It's always hard to get back into the swing of things after long weekends, especially as summer continues to inch closer to its end. I suppose that means we need to start planning our next travel expedition...
